Miscellaneous Information

Miscellaneous Information:

We are one of the very few providers of legal assistance on Lesvos and have been working inside Moria Camp since July 2016.

Since then, 144 European asylum lawyers from 17 countries have volunteered with us and – alongside our team of full-time, permanent Greek asylum lawyers – have provided free legal assistance to over 9,000 people.

Our work has real impact and demonstrates the importance of asylum seekers having access to legal assistance: of those we have assisted who have notified us of the outcome of their asylum application, 74.5% have been granted asylum, compared to an average of 46.5% in Greece.

This platform is powered by Asterias-Starfish Foundation. We are trying to let every organisation have a clear view of the needs on the island of Lesvos. To give them access to funding when they haven't any, and give to the donors the full information they need, when they want to offer their help.

Let's work together, to cover the needs of this humanitarian crisis, through a transparent platform

About us

Matching needs and offers.

Asterias-Starfish Foundation being on the refugees' crisis field for a long time, came face to face with emergency needs, lack of information and communication. Even now, when the flow is not so big, actually nobody knows the needs of the others. So many times, items are remaining in warehouses and refugees still need them. On the other hand, donors want to offer their help in this refugee crisis, but they cannot find where to channel this help.

We are launching this platform to help us to work more efficiently.  To let every organization have a clear view of the needs on the island of Lesvos. To give them access to funding when they haven't any, and give to the donors the full information they need, when they want to offer their help.

Let's work together, to cover the needs of this humanitarian crisis, through a transparent platform.
