About MSF

When large-scale epidemics occur, when areas in crisis are too dangerous for many others, then the medical teams from MSF are there to ensure that the affected population can count on continual care being provided for their most basic health-care needs.

They organize basic medical care, treat the injured, carry out vaccination campaigns, train local medical staff and build up medical infrastructure. In long-term aid projects they dedicate themselves to the fight against diseases like tuberculosis, malaria, sleeping sickness, and HIV/AIDS.

The on-location work of our expats is often very exhausting, but also fascinating, demanding appropriate professional knowledge, and a large amount of motivation and commitment.

Plans for 2018

MSF's clinic in Mytilini sees patients with severe mental health and psychiatric issues. In Moria Camp, MSF runs clinics for paediatric and sexual reproductive health and delivers group therapy for children and parents.

MSF also supports the organisation Watershed in maintaining the washing facilities in the inside area of Moria, and is responsible for installing, maintaining and cleaning the washing facilities in the Olive Grove area of the camp.

Powered by

This platform is powered by Asterias-Starfish Foundation. We are trying to let every organisation have a clear view of the needs on the island of Lesvos. To give them access to funding when they haven't any, and give to the donors the full information they need, when they want to offer their help.

Let's work together, to cover the needs of this humanitarian crisis, through a transparent platform

About us

Matching needs and offers.

Asterias-Starfish Foundation being on the refugees' crisis field for a long time, came face to face with emergency needs, lack of information and communication. Even now, when the flow is not so big, actually nobody knows the needs of the others. So many times, items are remaining in warehouses and refugees still need them. On the other hand, donors want to offer their help in this refugee crisis, but they cannot find where to channel this help.

We are launching this platform to help us to work more efficiently.  To let every organization have a clear view of the needs on the island of Lesvos. To give them access to funding when they haven't any, and give to the donors the full information they need, when they want to offer their help.

Let's work together, to cover the needs of this humanitarian crisis, through a transparent platform.
