About DRC

DRC is a humanitarian, non-governmental, non-profit organisation founded in 1956 that works in more than 30 countries throughout the world.

DRC fulfils its mandate by providing direct assistance to conflict-affected populations – refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs) and host communities in the conflict areas of the world. It advocates on behalf of conflict-affected populations internationally and in Denmark, on the basis of humanitarian principles and the Human Rights Declaration. Internationally, DRC actively participates in supporting the protection of refugees, and promoting durable solutions for conflict-affected populations.

Plans for 2018

On Lesvos DRC currently has office in Mytilini and in the Moria Camp. Their focus for 2018 is on protection, monitoring and providing legal aid for asylum cases.

Powered by

This platform is powered by Asterias-Starfish Foundation. We are trying to let every organisation have a clear view of the needs on the island of Lesvos. To give them access to funding when they haven't any, and give to the donors the full information they need, when they want to offer their help.

Let's work together, to cover the needs of this humanitarian crisis, through a transparent platform

About us

Matching needs and offers.

Asterias-Starfish Foundation being on the refugees' crisis field for a long time, came face to face with emergency needs, lack of information and communication. Even now, when the flow is not so big, actually nobody knows the needs of the others. So many times, items are remaining in warehouses and refugees still need them. On the other hand, donors want to offer their help in this refugee crisis, but they cannot find where to channel this help.

We are launching this platform to help us to work more efficiently.  To let every organization have a clear view of the needs on the island of Lesvos. To give them access to funding when they haven't any, and give to the donors the full information they need, when they want to offer their help.

Let's work together, to cover the needs of this humanitarian crisis, through a transparent platform.
