About BRF
Boat Refugee Foundation (BRF) is a Dutch NGO formed in 2015 to assist boat refugees in various ways in various locations in the Mediterranean. From mid 2015 until January 1st 2018 we ran a medical mission inside the Moria camp during evenings and nights for primary and emergency care. Currently we run the only community center inside Moria which contains a school and social facilities, and hosts mental health classes and support groups.

Plans for 2018
In 2018 we plan to continue our psycho-social mission through our community center as we do right now and hopefully expand it further. Our medical support team will be returning to Moria at the beginning of May to work evening and night shifts.

Powered by

This platform is powered by Asterias-Starfish Foundation. We are trying to let every organisation have a clear view of the needs on the island of Lesvos. To give them access to funding when they haven't any, and give to the donors the full information they need, when they want to offer their help.

Let's work together, to cover the needs of this humanitarian crisis, through a transparent platform

About us

Matching needs and offers.

Asterias-Starfish Foundation being on the refugees' crisis field for a long time, came face to face with emergency needs, lack of information and communication. Even now, when the flow is not so big, actually nobody knows the needs of the others. So many times, items are remaining in warehouses and refugees still need them. On the other hand, donors want to offer their help in this refugee crisis, but they cannot find where to channel this help.

We are launching this platform to help us to work more efficiently.  To let every organization have a clear view of the needs on the island of Lesvos. To give them access to funding when they haven't any, and give to the donors the full information they need, when they want to offer their help.

Let's work together, to cover the needs of this humanitarian crisis, through a transparent platform.
